The safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults is central to the work that we do. Background checks will assist Tearfund to have confidence that our representatives can be trusted to have contact with children and vulnerable adults and handle their sensitive information appropriately. This is one of many steps undertaken by the organisation to support the safety of children and vulnerable adults. Candidates should note that any offer of work (including employment, volunteer and contract work) will be subject to the satisfactory completion of;
- A self-declaration process
- A criminal records/police check
- Two reference verifications
At all times, Tearfund staff are expected to carry out their duties with the utmost respect and in accordance with Tearfund’s Safeguarding & Whistleblowing Policy.
Research has shown that women and underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for jobs unless they meet every single competency or experience. If you are excited about any role posted on our page, but your experience doesn't align perfectly, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be just the right person for this role and Tearfund NZ. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application and throughout the interview process.
