About the event:
We are very excited to be hosting Selina Prem Kumar, Country Director for Tearfund’s dairy enterprise Yugashakthi in Sri Lanka.

During our time together, Selina will be sharing some of her incredible life story and walk with God, and how she came to be the Country Director of Yugashakthi. Over the past ten years, this project has revitalised the dairy industry in the North following the long-running civil conflict and the Indian Ocean tsunami, which devastated the country. With help from people like you, smallholder dairy farmers, their families and communities are thriving through increased incomes and improved quality of life.

This flagship project has been operating for over 10 years, committed to rebuilding the dairy industry and reuniting communities in the Northern provinces, following the devastating civil war and Indian Ocean tsunami.

This will be a time of great encouragement as Selina recounts the stories of farmers whose lives have been transformed through this project, and renews our excitement for what is to come in the years ahead. Alongside continuing to build a self-sustaining enterprise for the next generation of dairy farmers, Selina’s heart is for young women to be protected and restored from modern slavery.

The Sri Lanka project now forms part of Tearfund's SAFE programme, which aims to support communities in the Asia-Pacific region to become safe, aware, free, and empowered by addressing modern slavery and reducing their vulnerability by improving incomes through agricultural enterprise initiatives. To magnify our impact, we are proud to partner with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). MFAT will generously match your contributions to this programme. This means every $1 you give will unlock $2 of MFAT funding, releasing $3 of programmatic impact.

During the event, there will be time for you to ask Selina questions to Selina, pray together, and have the opportunity to support our work to break the cycle of poverty and exploitation.

Register now and hear how supporters like yourselves are continuing to help create resilient and safer communities in Sri Lanka:
