Veggie Patch

Community vegetable garden

What this gift will do

Your donation can help provide an income and a steady source of food to survive. Climate change has brought increased hardship for many in low-income countries challenged by extreme conditions.

For instance, Mongolia’s nomadic herdsmen have been forced to adapt to growing vegetables after repeated severe winters have wiped out their herds, destroying their traditional source of livelihood.

Community vegetable gardens not only help to feed these communities, they give them the skills to grow vegetables, gets them working together, and gets them sharing in the income that comes from selling surplus vegetables. With increased incomes and more community interaction, big changes start to happen.
