Purchase Stop Trafficking
At 16 years old, Nan was trafficked and forced to work from 6 pm until 2 am, providing sex services at a karaoke bar. She and the other captors were then driven to a farm, where they were allowed four hours sleep on a mat on the ground under a tin roof. At 6 am the following morning, they were forced to work on the farm doing daily labour. Talking when not permitted, leaving hair in the bathroom, and other imaginary offences resulted in her pay being docked a day’s wages. One day, our partner’s investigative team and social workers, in collaboration with Thai authorities, rescued Nan and the seven other victims alongside her. Sadly, less than 2% of victims are ever rescued.
