Ride to Help Fight Modern Slavery

Tony and Jennifer are cycling across the United States to raise funds for Tearfund’s work tackling human trafficking. Every donation helps protect vulnerable communities and support survivors rebuilding their lives.

Every kilometre we ride is for someone who deserves freedom.

In May we begin a 6,500 km (4,000 miles) cycle from Maine to Oregon, carrying our tent, cooking gear, clothes and food. We’ll cross mountain ranges, face unpredictable weather, navigate forest fire zones, and yes, watch for bears. We expect the ride to take around 100 days.

But this is more than a bike trip. We’re also riding to fight modern slavery.

Right now, millions of people, many of them women and children, are trapped in human trafficking. The need is great, but we have seen hope in action.

Through Tearfund, real change is happening. In 2024 we visited their local partner LIFT International in Thailand, and saw their work first-hand:

  • Raise awareness of trafficking risks in vulnerable communities
  • Free trafficked women and children
  • Rehabilitate survivors
  • Equip police and courts with evidence gathering to prosecute traffickers

Close to home. Tearfund is also working in the Pacific to strengthen at-risk communities and prevent exploitation before it begins.

You can help tackle modern slavery

$50 – Sponsor part of a day’s ride
$100 – Sponsor cycling a full day
$500 – Help in the fight against modern slavery

Help us reach our goal of $10,000 in 100 days.
Every dollar brings us one step closer to freedom for those trapped in modern slavery. We would deeply value your support and your prayers as we take on this challenge.

Riding towards freedom, together!

Proclaim freedom to the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.
