Seeing the anti-human trafficking work of our partner LIFT in Thailand, was an eye-opener and an inspiration for the group of visitors who support this work.

Matthew Valentine spent 14-years of his life as a detective with the New Zealand Police. Little did he know his passion for fighting crime would take him to the streets of Thailand working for an organisation fighting human trafficking. 

A health diagnosis, conflict on the Thailand-Myanmar border near Teedoh’s family home, rising food prices and depleting food supplies combined to push the mother of three to the brink. But in the face of adversity, Tearfund’s partner provided a glimmer of hope.
