Tearfund hosted two Empowher women's events, one at Eastgate Christian Centre and one at The Upper Room. The events were a great opportunity to bring women together, be encouraged and do something powerful in the lives of mothers and babies in Indonesia through our new Mums and Bubs project. Take a look at ten photos that bring to life the events!

Empowher Central:

During the evening there were three powerful short talks from unique female voices, media personality Petra Bagust, sex and relationship therapist Jo Robertson and pastor at the Upper Room Church Pip Smyth. There were giveaways, delicious treats, a dessert platter and a Q & A after every talk for any questions the ladies had.

As quarantine measures shuts schools and day-care facilities, women often shoulder the burden of balancing work with childcare and homeschooling. Social distancing deprives them of the support they could normally lean upon. But women are far from defeated. This International Women’s Day, we wanted to honour this strength. We teamed up with Compassion to invite 12 women, aged 18 to 91, all connected by the beauty of sponsorship, to sit for a portrait and a conversation. In the midst of challenge, their strength is undeniable. Their resilience is inspiring, their faith unshakeable. Who are these women? Take a look. They are all around us.
