This November, Tearfund is excited to bring you internationally acclaimed performance poet, Joel McKerrow, featuring music from Holly Arrowsmith, in a series of intimate shows in aid of our Protect Cause.

Joel McKerrow is an award-winning writer, speaker, educator, community arts worker and one of Australia’s most successful internationally touring performance poets, having performed for hundreds of thousands of people around the world since 2010.

“…He is a masterful wordsmith, a transfixing performer, and is one who’s words flow out of all that is in his heart. His passion for people and for the brokenness of this world to be restored is evident through his advocacy and his solidarity. He inspires us through his poetry to care for humanity and to seek out the flourishing of all…”
~ Vickie Reddy- Executive Producer, The JUSTICE Conference ~

We are thrilled to be joined on tour by Holly Arrowsmith, supporting Joel with her acoustically driven and pure sound.  Holly is a singer-songwriter on the rise locally and internationally, a strong forerunner in New Zealand’s current folk revivalist movement.  Her poetic, thought provoking lyrics, combined with her distinctively haunting voice, gives you something transcendent.

“There's a trio of female singers who come to mind while listening to [Holly’s music], think early Joan Baez or the superstar voices of Joni Mitchell and Emmy Lou Harris… and if it sounds like high praise to put Holly on the same page, that's because her uniqueness demands it.”
~ FIVE STARS, Otago Daily Times

Joel and Holly’s New Zealand tour aims to spread awareness and fundraise to support the work of our partners in the prevention, rescue and rehabilitation of trafficking victims, and prosecution of traffickers in South East Asia and the Pacific.

Come join us to experience a moving evening of music and poetry for the freedom of those trapped in modern slavery.
