The Syrian conflict, which began in 2011, has caused untold suffering to hundreds of thousands of people. A tenth of Syria’s population has been killed or injured in the conflict, while more than 12 million people have been forced from their homes. Yet, in the midst of this conflict, hope remains.

Dr Nabil Costa is the CEO of the Lebanese Baptist Society. The society is Tearfund’s local partner in Lebanon working with Syrian refugees. Nabil is visiting New Zealand this year to share his insights and experiences of how the local church is meeting the growing needs of the more than one million Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Come and be inspired by how God has equipped Lebanese pastors to ‘love their neighbours’, build bridges between Muslims and Christian communities, and find out how the New Zealand church can be part of this story within the global refugee crisis.

These events will also give New Zealand pastors the opportunity to hear about Tearfund’s upcoming pastors’ trip to visit our local Lebanese partner. You can also find out how your church can directly connect with and support churches in Lebanon through our NEW partnership initiative.
