Kiwi dollars are being committed to teaching Ethiopians how to adapt. Starting with the basics - providing seeds to grow drought-resistant crops like beans and peas.

The lack of food and the lack of variety in what people are eating in the drought-stricken regions is why so many are requiring life-saving medical care.

The recent civil war and a crippling three-year drought have plunged Ethiopia into a crisis reminiscent of the 1980s catastrophe that led to the famous Live Aid relief effort.
